Grown in the desert region of Piura, Peru, this cacao is as rare as it is exceptional. Unlike jungle-grown cacao, Piura’s unique environment shields the trees from natural predators, allowing this varietal to evolve with remarkably low tannins—and that means exceptionally low bitterness.

Known as one of the fruitiest cacaos in the world, Piura Blanco gets its name from the rare white beans that make up around 30% of the harvest. Historical records show this prized cacao was cherished as far back as the 15th century.
